Stephen grew up on a ranch in the nearby small Texas town of Rockdale. Growing up he developed his skills for hard-work, discipline, and organization required for maintaining a ranch. Stephen has an identical twin brother in a large family with whom he remains very close to today. After leaving Rockdale, he attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. As a student, he was a proud member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and served as Head Stack Red Pot with Aggie Bonfire. It was during his years of proudly building the long-standing tradition of Bonfire that his passion for meticulously collaborating with others was ignited. Stephen received his Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology in 1993.

Stephen is a Project Manager for Lehne Construction, Inc. and has over 27 years’ experience in construction and manufacturing. He has a diverse construction background with a proven ability to estimate, monitor and manage day-to-day operations on complex construction projects in both public and private design-build projects. He uses analytical, technical, and organizational aptitude to gain respect of owners, design teams, subcontractors, and his co-workers. Stephen is meticulous about detail-orientation and dedication to any task he embarks upon, whether it be professional or personal.

Stephen is an adoring husband and doting father to four children. Devoted to his family, Stephen spends his spare time making meaningful memories, golfing, running, and diving into a good history book. While his own children were members of FFA, raising and showing steers and pigs, Stephen was very involved with the Travis County Youth Show. He not only supported his children, but also many other students in the community; he continues to remain involved and support local FFA youth today. He was also involved with the Boy Scouts of America where he served as Treasurer and as an Eagle Scout Advisor. Although he was not an Eagle Scout, he was able to see both of his sons achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Stephen has always been passionate about mentoring and supporting children. He relishes the opportunity and collaboration with Standish Foundation for Children and its board members to successfully complete their mission and goals.
